If your entry is selected as an outstanding piece, it may be featured within the aquarium along with comments from the animal care staff, and may even be used in the LINE calendar.

Before participating in the "#KyotoWaterSealMoment" contest (hereinafter referred to as "this contest"), please review the following application guidelines and rules.

◆Application Guidelines

[How to apply]

Please post images or videos of seals taken at Kyoto Aquarium to X with the hashtag "#KyotoAquariumSealMoment".

The shooting date is not a concern.

• Posting from a public account is required.

Please apply after agreeing to the application terms and conditions.

[Application Period]

From Monday, June 1, 2026 to Sunday, June 21, 2026, 23:59

The application period will be based on the date and time displayed on X.

[Selection and Announcement]

From the submitted entries, the organizing committee will select approximately 10 outstanding videos and 6 outstanding images.

The winning entries will be announced by being displayed (exhibited) for a limited time from July 11, 2026 (Saturday) at Kyoto Aquarium (2nd floor "Communication Hall," etc.), along with comments from the seal animal care staff. Please note that the number of entries selected may change depending on the selection process.

- Some of the best entries will be featured in the August LINE calendar as the "Seal Keeper's Favorite Entry Award."

・The contents of the exhibition (number of items, display location, period, etc.) may be changed without prior notice.

This contest will not offer any money, goods, discounts, or other economic benefits.

Works that have already been widely published or used in other projects may be excluded from consideration in light of the purpose of this contest.

◆Application Guidelines

This contest is organized by ORIX Aquarium Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "the Organizer") and managed by Kyoto Aquarium (hereinafter referred to as "the Aquarium") as the secretariat. Hereafter, "secretariat" in these terms and conditions refers to the Aquarium (Kyoto Aquarium).

By submitting your application, you agree to all of the following terms and conditions.

1. Number of applications

Each person may submit only one entry (one entry per account).

If you submit multiple entries, the organizing committee reserves the right to invalidate your application.

There is no limit to the number of videos or images you can include in a single post.

2. Application fee burden

- All expenses incurred in applying, such as aquarium admission fees, transportation costs, and communication fees, will be the responsibility of the applicant.

3. Eligibility Requirements

- Those who have a public X account.

Applicants must agree to the "Application Terms and Conditions."

・Minors require parental consent. If a minor applies, it will be assumed that parental consent has been obtained.

4. About the submitted works

This applies to images or videos of seals taken at Kyoto Aquarium.

- Entries must be photographs taken by the applicant themselves and must not infringe on the rights of any third party (copyright, portrait rights, privacy rights, etc.).

If any disputes arise with third parties regarding submitted works, the applicant shall resolve them at their own responsibility and expense.

5. Handling of Exhibitions (Introductions)

The secretariat will select works from the submitted entries to be exhibited and will introduce (display) them within the museum.

- When exhibiting, the applicant's X account name (including display name) will also be displayed.

We are unable to answer inquiries regarding the selection criteria or process for the exhibited works.

6. Copyright and License

The copyright of submitted works belongs to the applicant.

Applicants grant the organizers and secretariat the right to use their submitted works free of charge (including reproduction, exhibition, screening, posting on social media and websites, etc.) for three years starting from July 11, 2026, to the extent necessary for the operation, publicity, reporting, and in-house introduction (exhibition) of this contest.

After the above period expires, the organizer or secretariat will delete or destroy the submitted artwork data they hold to the extent reasonable.

- The method of displaying credits (account name, etc.) when using submitted works will be at the discretion of the organizing committee.

7. Prohibited actions and invalid entries

If the secretariat determines that an applicant falls under any of the following categories, it may take measures such as invalidating the application or canceling the introduction (exhibition).

- Actions that violate these Terms of Service or X's rules

- Actions that infringe or may infringe the rights of third parties.

- Any act that disrupts the operation of this contest.

- Actions that violate the Kyoto Aquarium Terms of Use ( https://www.kyoto-aquarium.com/terms/ ).

- Any other actions that the organizing committee deems inappropriate in light of the purpose of this project.

8. Suspension/Cancellation

The organizers or secretariat may interrupt or cancel all or part of this event without prior notice due to natural disasters, communication failures, system failures, or other unavoidable circumstances.

9.Disclaimer

The organizers and secretariat will not be liable for any damages incurred by applicants in connection with their application to or participation in this contest, except in cases of gross negligence on the part of the organizers or secretariat.

The same applies if you are unable to apply or your post is not displayed due to changes in X's specifications, malfunctions, etc.

10. Handling of personal information

This contest will not collect any new contact information from applicants, such as their name, address, or phone number.

The selection and presentation (exhibition) of submitted works will be based on publicly posted content on X (public information such as post content and account name).

Our company or the contest secretariat may use applicants' publicly available information to the extent necessary in connection with the operation of this contest.

・We may contact applicants individually (via direct message, etc.) as needed to request the provision of their artwork data.
