Limited time offer for 5 days during Silver Week! The popular summer event is back! "Night Aquarium" will be held from September 19th (Saturday).
Kyoto Aquarium (Location: Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City; General Manager: Kazuyoshi Sakano) is pleased to announce that it will be holding its popular summer event, "Nighttime Aquarium*", for a limited time during the Silver Week from September 19th (Sat) to 23rd (Wed/Holiday), 2026.
"Night Aquarium" was an event held from July 25th (Sat) to August 23rd (Sun), where the opening hours were extended from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., allowing visitors to enjoy the unique sights of the animals at night and the fantastical atmosphere created by the lighting effects.
This year, for the first time in 11 years, we will be holding "Night Aquarium" for a limited time during the five-day Silver Week holiday. You can see up close the nocturnal animals, such as giant salamanders coming to life and sea lions dozing off. You can also enjoy "Dolphin School" starting at 6pm, the illumination of the limited-time exhibit "Jellyfish, Umbrellas, and Wind Chimes," and "Water Curtain," a spatial art performance of water, light, and sound, at the "Dolphin Stadium." Furthermore, there will be a "Night animals Mystery Solving Game" where you can try to solve puzzles while touring the aquarium. Work together with your family, partner, or friends to find the answers.
The event will feature food, drinks, and merchandise that can be enjoyed alongside observing the creatures, including the "Sparkling Aurora Soda (Ocean Blue)," a glowing drink that was popular at the "animals Aquarium," the "Giant Salamander Envelope" which uses a giant salamander-shaped mizuhiki (decorative cord) to celebrate, and a new orange color in limited quantities for the popular Lucky Penguin Lottery, where you are guaranteed to win a plush toy.
Additionally, we will be selling tickets for customers entering between noon and 4pm, which offer a 50% discount on admission for up to 5 accompanying junior high school students or younger per adult or high school student.
