entrance
Kyoto Aquarium is located in Umekoji Park.
The entrance is located behind the ticket machines, ticket counter, and general information desk.

The River of Kyoto
The first thing you will see when you enter is "The River of Kyoto" area.
You will be greeted by the giant salamander, one of the world's largest amphibians.

Fur seal
See the unique appearance of the fur seals right before your eyes.
In the U-shaped aquarium that feels like a hideaway, you'll feel as if you're swimming right alongside!

Seal
You can enjoy the expressions on the faces of the seals as they pop out of the water.
Also pay attention to the way they emerge from the tube-shaped tank!

Kaiju Café
A cafe located right next to the seal area.
Take a break with Kyoto Aquarium's original menu.

Penguin Cave
You can see the penguin pool from the side underwater.
Enjoy watching the penguins swim through the water as if they were flying in the sky.

The Sea of Kyoto (giant tank)
In the tank that recreates the sea of Kyoto, you can see a wide variety of creatures.
Enjoy the mysterious space that makes you feel like you're at the bottom of the ocean.

Enjoy the wild sight of them using the power of the waves to rise onto the undulating land.

Kurage Wonder
Approximately 30 species of jellyfish are exhibited in various tanks according to their ecology.
Be sure to immerse yourself in the fantastical world of floating jellyfish.

Communication Hall
It is an "information base" for learning and relaxation, not only exhibiting coral reef animals but also disseminating information in the workshop area and display shelves.

Stadium Cafe
A cafe located at the entrance to Ilphin Stadium on the second floor.
Please feel free to use this during your break at the stadium.

Dolphin Stadium
Watch the dolphins swimming freely.
From the stadium, you can also enjoy the natural scenery of the four seasons.

Sanshisuimei (The Beauty of Nature)
An area that exhibits freshwater creatures that live in Kyoto, the city of water.
Take a look at these rare animals that are on the verge of extinction.

Harvest Cafe
If you get tired, take a break at a cafe in the Sanshisuimei (The Beauty of Nature) area.
We also offer light snacks perfect for when you feel a little hungry.

The Countryside of Kyoto
An outdoor area rich in nature that recreates the rural mountain scenery of Kyoto.
Enjoy observing the animals in the waterways and rice fields.
